TONICO FITNESS

THE GoAL:

Tonico, a private gym in the heart of Central London, is known for its personalised approach to fitness and expert coaching.

In 2024, Tonico approached me with a clear objective: they needed high-quality video and photo content to enhance their social media presence & highlight two of their new personal Trainers, Rob & Danielle. Having previously worked with another videographer, they found the results didn’t align with their vision or deliver the desired impact. Since then, they had been creating content using their phones, but the visuals lacked the polish and standout appeal they were striving for. Their space, primarily featuring standard room lighting and white walls, felt flat and uninspiring, and they were unsure how to make it appear more vibrant and dynamic.

With a growing community of fitness enthusiasts and an active online presence, Tonico recognised the need for professional visuals to better connect with their audience and attract new members. Through a combination of engaging videos and dynamic photos, we worked to transform their gym’s aesthetic, showcase the unique energy of their classes, and highlight the expertise of Personal Trainers, Rob and Danielle.

The result was a collection of impactful content that not only reflects the spirit of Tonico but also elevates their social media platforms.

THE SOLUTION

After reviewing Tonico’s challenges, I devised a monthly plan to enhance their social media presence and effectively highlight their personal trainers. They needed consistent content for Instagram that would allow them to post daily and stay top of mind with their audience. The plan included producing 20 short-form Instagram reels and 20 edited photos with graphics.

Understanding their concern about making the gym appear more dynamic, I knew immediately that the solution was to turn off the harsh overhead lights and rely solely on professional lighting equipment for full control. To add vibrancy and solve their lack of colour, I recommended hiring RGB full-colour tube lights. This addition brought much-needed colour to the scene, and the client was thrilled with the result, which significantly boosted the brand’s image.

Fitness content can be tricky to light properly without the right expertise. You need soft light to hit the talent from the front for a smooth, flattering look, while hard light from behind helps accentuate muscle definition. Achieving the right balance can be challenging, but my experience ensured I was fully prepared to deliver the desired results.

Shot with a cinematic approach and featuring fast-paced editing, dynamic lighting, and professional colour grading, the video mirrors the intensity and motivation that define Tonico's training sessions.

The client was delighted with the final result, using it prominently across their social media platforms. Now, it’s the first thing potential members see when discovering Tonico, setting the tone for the unique fitness experience the gym offers.
